Among the machines in a fabrication shop, the ironworker often catches the eye of first-time visitors. It combines in a single machine operations that would otherwise require several pieces of equipment.
Several operations in one station
With different workstations, the ironworker cuts angles and bars, punches holes and notches profiles. It is widely used to prepare smaller parts that make up larger structures, such as connection plates and stiffeners.
Faster preparation
Because the part does not have to move between several machines, it speeds up batch preparation and helps keep production flowing. It is one of those machines that does not show in the final product but is behind a good part of it.
